Apple Oatmeal with Walnut Oil
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp rolled oats (finely milled)
- 1.5 dl water
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1–2 tsp honey
- 1–2 tsp walnut oil
- 1 dl plain yogurt (preferably Greek, if available) (or milk, to taste)
- 1 small apple (150 g)
I bring the water to a boil with the cinnamon (you can add a pinch of salt too, though I don’t for the kids), add the oats, and cook over low heat, stirring, until the oats absorb the water and soften (3–4 minutes). I remove it from the heat, stir in the honey, and grate in the apple. I divide it into bowls, mix in yogurt (or milk for the older child), and add the walnut oil.
