Fig and Sesame Cake
Ingredients:
- 175 g flour
- 50 g sesame seed flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 200 g butter
- 2 heaping tsp sesame seed paste
- 200 g brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 50 ml plain yogurt
- 250 g mascarpone
- 70 ml cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- a few figs
- a few blackberries
Take two bowls: in one, mix the flours with the baking powder; in the other, mix together the butter, sesame paste, sugar, eggs, and yogurt. Once each mixture is well combined, fold them together.
Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) a 20×20 cm baking dish or a 23 cm round cake tin. Pour in the batter and bake at 180°C with fan for about 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the cream: mix the mascarpone with the whipped cream and vanilla extract.
Once the cake base has cooled, spread the cream on top and decorate with fig slices and blackberries.
